Our Beliefs

We Believe
As United Methodists…

We believe that there is only one God, in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

We believe that the Son took human nature, joining humanity and divinity in one person.  He suffered, died, and was buried to reconcile us with the Father and as a sacrifice for human sins.

We believe that Christ rose from the dead and ascended into heaven.  He will come again to judge all people at the last day.

We believe that the Holy Scriptures (the books of the Old and New Testaments) contain all things necessary for salvation.

We believe that sin prevents us from repenting and coming to faith without the grace of God.

We believe
that good works are the fruits of faith.  They cannot free us from our sins, but they are pleasing to God and are signs of a true and lively faith.

We believe that the church is a congregation of faithful people in which the Word of God is preached, and the Sacraments duly administered.

We believe that baptism and the Lord’s Supper are signs of God’s grace and good will, working invisibly in us.  They strengthen and confirm our faith in God.  We baptize infants and young children as a sign of God's presence in the lives of all people.
